If I drew a Special Permit last year, can I apply again this year for that same category?

Yes. There is no waiting period and you are able to apply for most Special Permit categories year after year.

The only exceptions to this rule is for people who harvested or failed to provide a hunter report for the Any Moose, Any Ram (bighorn sheep), or Mountain Goat Special Permits (if you harvested a goat prior to 1999, you are still able to apply). In these cases, you would not be eligible to apply for that category again due to the once-in-a-lifetime restriction, but you would still be able to apply for other categories for that species. For example, if you previously harvested (either a ram or ewe) under the bighorn sheep Any Ram Special Permit, you are still able to apply for and harvest under the bighorn sheep Ewe Only category.
