What happens to the points hunters have accumulated now that these changes have been made?

Hunters will retain the points they have accrued from previous years. To ensure fairness, these points have been applied to each of the new subcategories created under the new system. For example, if a deer hunter previously had 3 points, that hunter has been credited 3 points in each of the deer categories (e.g. buck, second deer, antlerless deer, quality deer, etc.). Future drawings will continue to be "weighted," providing an advantage to hunters with the greatest number of points.
