What is the difference between the daily catch limit and the possession limit for fish?

The daily bag limit is defined as the maximum number or pounds of fish, shellfish, or seaweed of a given species and size that a person may legally keep in a single day.  The related possession limit is the number of daily limits allowed to be kept in the field or in transit.
