WDFW Help

Can I use my general season deer or elk tag if I am drawn for and plan to participate in a Multiple Season hunt?

  • No. If you purchase your general season tag and then you are drawn for a Multiple Season permit of the same species, you must return your general season tag and purchase a Multiple Season tag to participate in Multiple Season hunts.
  • If you have previously purchased your licenses and taken possession of your general season tags before being drawn for a Multiple Season permit, you must first contact the WDFW Licensing Division in Olympia at (360) 902-2464, before purchasing your Multiple Season tag at a License Dealer. Only WDFW can void your general season tag if more than 60 minutes have passed since your hunting license was purchased.
  • If you intend to apply for a Multiple Season general deer or elk permit, you may want to delay purchase of your hunting license until drawing results are known. Or you can purchase your hunting license in advance but choose not to take possession of your deer and/or elk tags until Multiple Season permit drawing results are known.
