All individuals born after 1 January 1972 must also show proof of basic hunter education training from Washington or another state before enrolling in the Master Hunter program.

If required, enclose a copy of your hunter education certificate or the year and state in which you completed your training.

Hunter Education Courses

Trapper Education Class Schedule & Information

All first-time Washington trappers, regardless of age, are required to successfully complete Trapper Education training or successfully challenge the written examination process.

The Washington State Trapper's Association sponsors one course each year at their rendezvous on the third weekend in August. Location varies from year to year.

Trapper Education Home Study Option
Very few trapper education classes are available so most potential trapping students will be interested in the home study option program. A student manual and study guide will help you prepare you for the written examination.
