Fire restrictions in place on WDFW lands
The arrival of hot, dry weather, combined with drought conditions, has prompted the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to restrict fires and other activities effective immediately on agency-managed lands in eastern Washington. Learn more >>
The L.T. Murray Wildlife Area covers 106,400 acres in four units that lie both west and east of Ellensburg in Kittitas County. All units except for the Yakima River unit have a checkerboard ownership pattern with DNR.

L.T. Murray is closed to all human entry from mid-December until May 1st. Whiskey Dick, and a portion of the Quilomene Wildlife Areas will be closed to motor vehicles Feb. 1 through April 30 to protect wintering elk from disturbance, and in turn reduce elk damage to adjacent private lands.
