Cougar Incident Reports - Archive

The Cougar Incident Reports found here only those submitted between January 2005 and May 2010. Dangerous Wildlife Incident Reports have replaced Cougar Incident reports and include Cougar, Grizzly bear, and Wolf. Search Dangerous Wildlife Incident Reports.

This information on cougar sightings is taken from reports from citizens made to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Officers. Cougar sightings that were not reported will not be on the list. Multiple reports from citizens on the same encounter are recorded as one incident. Multiple reports that are very close in time and geographic location may be recorded as one incident. Not all reported cougar incidents are verifiable as cougar sightings.
