DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
ON MAY 2, 2012, AT APPROXIMATELY 0230 HOURS, I RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM WSP COMMUNICATIONS. THEY ADVISED WSP REQUESTED A CALL REGARDING MULTIPLE REPORTED COUGAR SIGHTINGS IN THE KENNEWICK AREA. AT APPROXIMATELY 0240, I SPOKE WITH WSP WHO ADVISED THEY HAD RECIEVED TWO REPORTS OF COUGAR SIGHTINGS WEST OF US-395 IN KENNEWICK. THIS AREA WAS DESCRIBED AS A HEAVY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT IN THE HEART OF THE CITY OF KENNEWICK AND BOTH SIGHTINGS WERE WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE. I ASKED IF THERE HAD BEEN ANY TRACKS OBSERVED OR OTHER PHYSICAL EVIDENCE OBSERVED; I WAS TOLD "NO". I ADVISED SINCE IT WAS ONLY A REPORTED SIGHTING AT THIS TIME, I WOULD RESPOND DURING THE EARLY DAYLIGHT HOURS AND TO CALL ME BACK IF ANY TRACKS WERE LOCATED OR ADDITIONAL SIGHTINGS REPORTED.
