DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
RECEIVED AN E-MAIL FROM WSP DISPATCH REFERENCE A COUGAR SIGHTING NEAR GRANDVIEW TRUCKING IN CENTRAL VANCOUVER. THE CALLER REPORTED SEEING A SMALL COUGAR WALKING THE RAILROAD TRACKS NEAR THE BUSINESS. AFTER SPEAKING TO THE INDIVIDUAL ON THE PHONE, HE WAS VERY POSITIVE IT WAS IN FACT A COUGAR AND STATED HE WENT OUT AND LOOKED FOR TRACKS WHERE HE SAW IT AND OBSERVED SOME. IT WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG JUST STROLLING DOWN THE RAILROAD TRACKS. THIS AREA IS LOADED WITH CITY DEER AND IS IN EFFECTIVE WAY TO GET THROUGH TOWN WITHOUT BEING DETECTED FOR THE MOST PART. I ADVISED THE CALLER TO CALL BACK IF HE SEES IT AGAIN.
