DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
THE RP EXPLAINS SHE JUST SAW A COUGAR AT THE INDIAN PAINTED ROCKS NEAR RIVERSIDE STATE PARK ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE LITTLE SPOKANE RIVER. THE ALLEGED COUGAR WAS NOT SCARED BY LOUD NOISE AND SHE THOUGHT IT WAS STALKING THEM SINCE IT KEPT PEEKING AT HER AND THEN HIDING. I CALLED AND SPOKE TO THE RP AND DETERMINED THAT IT WAS LIKELY THAT HER AND HER FRIEND SAW A COUGAR ON THE TRAIL AT THE PAINTED ROCK IN LITTLE SPOKANE NATURAL AREA STATE PARK. THE RP SAID THAT THE COUGAR WAS ABOUT A MILE IN ON THE TRAIL AND THAT SHE SAW IT NEAR THE TRAIL IN A BUSH. THERE WAS NO FURTHER INCIDENT. I SUGGESTED THAT THE RP GO TO THE WDFW WEBSITE AND READ ABOUT LIVING WITH COUGARS.
