Dangerous Wildlife Incident Reports

SPECIES
Cougar

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
THE RPíS FAMILY WAS CHECKING INTO THEIR VACATION RENTAL AND SAW A COUGAR INSIDE THE HOUSE. THE BACK DOOR HAD BEEN LEFT OPEN AND THE COUGAR CAME INSIDE. THE COUGAR QUICKLY WENT OUT THE DOOR IT HAD COME IN. AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PROPERTY AT THE BASE OF THE HILL WAS FRESH BLOOD IN THE SNOW. UNDER AN OPEN PORCH OF A SHED WAS A RACCOON CARCASS THAT HAD BEEN PARTIALLY EATEN APPROXIMATELY THIRTY FEET FROM WHERE THE BLOOD WAS IN THE SNOW. FRESH COUGAR TRACKS WERE IDENTIFIED IN THE SNOW. I REMOVED THE RACCOON CARCASS AND SET UP A TRAIL CAMERA TO CATCH THE PATTERN OF THE COUGAR. UNDER THE PORCH OF THE SHED WAS A PERFECT LOCATION FOR A COUGAR TO DEN UP TO GET OUT OF THE SNOW. THE RP WAS ADVISED THAT THE COUGAR WOULD MOST LIKELY COME BACK TONIGHT OR TOMORROW NIGHT TO CONTINUE EATING THE FLESHLY KILLED RACCOON. THE RP WAS ADVISED TO MAKE NOISE WHEN THEY GO OUTSIDE SO THEY DO NOT STARTLE THE COUGAR.
