DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
RP RAN OUTSIDE AFTER HEARING A SCREAMING NOISE IN HIS BACK YARD AND SAW THAT A COUGAR WAS ATTACKING A DEER. HE RAN TOWARDS THE DEER AND COUGAR AND THE COUGAR WALKED AWAY CASUALLY. RP IS CONCERNED THAT THE COUGAR WILL REMAIN IN THE AREA SINCE THERE ARE MANY DEER. RP ADVISED THAT HE HAD A FRIEND WITH HOUNDS. A FISH AND WILDLIFE OFFICER COORDINATED WITH THE RP AND THE HOUNDSMAN. THE HOUNDSMAN WAS ADVISED TO HARASS THE COUGAR FROM THE AREA, AND HE AND THE RP WERE GIVEN PERMISSION TO LETHALLY REMOVE THE COUGAR SHOULD IT DISPLAY ABNORMAL BEHAVIOR TRAITS OR PRESENT A DANGER TO THE HOUNDS.
