DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
A 300-350 POUND GOAT WAS KILLED, DRUG AWAY, AND PARTIALLY BURIED BY WHAT THE RP SUSPECTED WAS A COUGAR. FISH AND WILDLIFE OFFICERS AND A CONFLICT SPECIALIST RESPONDED AND CONFIRMED THE COUGAR KILL. HOUNDS WERE USED TO TRACK THE COUGAR BUT IT WAS NOT LOCATED THAT DAY. A TRAIL CAMERA WAS SET UP AND CAPTURED THE COUGAR RETURNING AND FEEDING ON THE GOAT CARCASS THAT NIGHT. HOUNDS WERE DEPLOYED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY AND WERE ABLE TO TREE THE COUGAR AND IT WAS EUTHANIZED. THE COUGAR WAS A SUB ADULT MALE, IN GOOD CONDITION, AND THE CARCASS WAS DONATED TO A VETERINARIAN PROGRAM.
