DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
ONE RP CALLED TO REPORT A COUGAR SIGHTING. THE COUGAR LOOKED TO WEIGH ABOUT 100 POUNDS AND CAME WITHIN 75 FEET OF THE RP'S HOUSE. THE RP PUTS FOOD OUT FOR THE DEER, AND THIS MAY HAVE BEEN WHY THE COUGAR WAS LURKING. THE RP STATED THAT A NEIGHBOR FAIRLY CLOSE BY HAD SEEN THREE COUGARS TOGETHER RECENTLY. A SECOND RP, NEIGHBOR TO THE FIRST, CALLED TO SAY THAT HER HORSES AND CHICKENS HAVE BEEN ACTING OUT OF THE ORDINARY AND, AFTER LEARNING OF THE NEIGHBOR'S COUGAR SIGHTING, IS CONCERNED FOR HER ANIMALS. BOTH RP'S WERE GIVEN ADVICE AND TOLD TO NOTIFY WDFW SHOULD THEY HAVE FURTHER COUGAR ISSUES.
