SPECIES
Cougar

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
RP ADVISED A FISH AND WILDLIFE OFFICER THAT TWO COUGARS WERE TRAPPED IN HIS CHICKEN COOP. SINCE THE COUGARS HAD DEPREDATED ON LIVESTOCK, THE RP WAS GIVEN PERMISSION TO KILL THE COUGARS. THE OFFICER RESPONDED THE NEXT DAY AND PICKED UP ONE COUGAR FROM THE RP, WHO ADVISED THAT THE OTHER ONE HAD GOTTEN AWAY. THE RP POINTED OUT A NEIGHBOR'S CHICKEN COOP AND EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT THE COUGAR RETURNING. THE OFFICER ADVISED THE RP TO PLAY TALK RADIO AND KEEP LIGHTS ON THE COOPS FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.
