DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
RP FOUND ONE OF HIS DAY OLD CALVES DEAD. THE STOMACH WAS WIDELY OPENED UP AND THE RP LEFT THE CALF UNTIL THE SAME TIME NEXT DAY. THE CALF CARCASS HAD DISAPPEARED AND HE COULD FIND NO EVIDENCE OF IT. THIS ACTIVITY IS CONSISTENT WITH THAT OF A COUGAR SO A FISH AND WILDLIFE OFFICER WILL MONITOR THE SITUATION. THE RP WAS ADVISED TO SET UP CAMERAS TO CONFIRM THE COUGAR, IN WHICH CASE A HOUNDSMAN CAN BE DEPLOYED TO LETHALLY REMOVE IT. THE RP IS ALSO AUTHORIZED TO SHOOT THE COUGAR IF HE SEES IT NEAR HIS CATTLE.
