DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
AT APPROXIMATELY 1640 HOURS I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE R/P WHO TOLD ME ON SATURDAY, 06-11-11 AT APPROXIMATELY 1900 HOURS HE AND HIS WIFE FOUND THEIR PET GOAT DEAD INSIDE THEIR PASTURE/CORRAL IN THEIR BACKYARD. THE R/P SAID THE GOAT HAD WOUNDS TO IT'S NECK AND ONLY IT'S NECK. THE R/P SAID BOTH HE AND HIS WIFE THOUGHT A DOG OR MAYBE A COYOTE HAD KILLED IT. HE ALSO SAID WHATEVER KILLED THE GOAT ATTEMPTED TO DRAG IT OFF AND POSSIBLY WAS SCARED AWAY BY THEIR HORSE WHICH IS VERY PROTECTIVE. THE R/P SAID HIS WIFE'S BROTHER CAME OVER AND EXAMINED THE GOAT AND HE THOUGHT A DOG WAS RESPONSIBLE. THEY DUG A HOLE NEAR THEIR CORRAL AND BURIED THE GOAT. THE R/P SAID AFTER HE WENT TO WORK ON MONDAY AND SPOKE WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE AS WELL AS DOING SOME RESEARCH ON HIS OWN, HE THOUGH MAYBE A COUGAR COULD HAVE KILLED THE GOAT. THE R/P SAID HE WAS BASING THIS ON THE GOAT ONLY HAVING WOUNDS TO ITS NECK AND THAT THE GOAT WAS ATTEMPTED TO BE DRUG AWAY. THE R/P SAID BOTH HE AND HIS WIFE HAD NOTICED TRACKS IN THE CORRAL AREA ON SATURDAY NIGHT AND THEY MAY HAVE BEEN FROM A COUGAR. HE E-MAILED ME PICTURES OF THE DEAD GOAT AND PICTURES OF WHAT HE AND HIS WIFE SAID WERE TRACKS. THE PICTURES SHOWED A DEAD BLACK GOAT WITH OBVIOUS WOUNDS TO IT'S NECK. THE PICTURES OF THE TRACKS WERE NOT VERY CLEAR AND IT WAS HARD TO TELL IF IT EVEN WAS A TRACK. ON 06-15-11 I RESPONDED TO THE RESIDENCE AND SPOKE WITH BOTH THE R/P AND HIS WIFE. THEY SHOWED ME THE AREA WHERE THE GOAT WAS KILLED AND I LOOKED AROUND THEIR SMALL PASTURE AND YARD. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF A COUGAR BEING PRESENT IN THE AREA. I TOLD THEM AND THEY AGREED THAT I COULD NOT SAY 100% THAT A COUGAR WAS INVOLVED OR WAS NOT INVOLVED. THEY SAID THEY SPOKE WITH SEVERAL NEIGHBORS AND NO ONE ELSE SAW ANYTHING OR WAS MISSING ANY ANIMALS. I TOLD THEM TO CALL ME IF SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS.
