Koenings to meet with reporters

OLYMPIA—The upcoming salmon and lowland lake trout fishing seasons will be among the topics discussed Tuesday when Jeff P. Koenings, director of the

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, meets with members of the news media.

The meeting will start at 9 a.m., April 20, in the director's office on the fifth floor of the Natural Resources Building, 1111 Washington St. SE., Olympia.

Koenings, who was appointed WDFW director in January by the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission, will review the outcome of the salmon fishing season-setting negotiations which ended April 9 in Sacramento, Calif. Koenings also will discuss the April 24 lowland lake trout opener as well as other fish and wildlife topics in a question-and-answer session with reporters.

A limited number of reporters can participate in the meeting via telephone on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Debi Hewitt at (360) 902-2258 in advance to arrange for telephone participation.
