Salmon Fishing in Area 3 closes Sunday night
OLYMPIA -- Salmon fishing in Marine Area 3, from the mouth of the Queets
River to Cape Alava (including La Push), will close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, the
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today.
Department biologists said the quota of 800 coho will be reached by Sunday.
Fishing opened July 21.
The Marine Area 3 fishing season was short to protect low runs of wild coho
returning to several Olympic Peninsula rivers.
