Ocean coho, chinook fishing to close after Sept. 4

OLYMPIA -- Thursday is the last day for ocean fishing for coho and chinook salmon in Ocean Area 2 (Westport and Ocean Shores), the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced.

The closure takes effect at 11:59 p.m., Sept. 4, when the quota is expected to have been met.

Fishing opportunity for chinook will continue inside of Buoy 13 (Grays Harbor) from Sept. 1 through 30.

Fishers should consult the department's "Fishing In Washington" rules pamphlet for complete details on fishing seasons and regulations.
