WDFW boat ramp on Smith Creek
scheduled to close for renovations

RAYMOND – A public boat ramp owned by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) on Smith Creek in northern Pacific County will be closed December 12-15 for renovations.

During the closure, a WDFW crew will replace the dilapidated ramp with new six-inch thick concrete planks that will provide reliable access to the creek and to the northern end of Willapa Bay for many years to come, said Shane Belson, WDFW water access coordinator.

Other areas of the Smith Creek Water Access Site will remain open.  Belson said closing the ramp during construction is necessary to ensure public safety, adding that the department is committed to finishing the work on schedule.

The site is located 10 miles northwest of Raymond on SR 105.
