Volunteer sought for fish recovery panel
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking an eastern Washington sportfisher to serve on a statewide panel focused on regional salmon recovery and enhancement efforts.
The volunteer would serve on the statewide citizen's advisory board that provides leadership and support to the Regional Fisheries Enhancement Group (RFEG) program at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The new board member would serve a three-year term beginning June 1.
The eight-member board meets quarterly in locations throughout the state to review and approve salmon recovery projects proposed by the RFEG groups. The board also reviews and comments on WDFW policy and proposes new legislation to increase the effectiveness of the RFEG program.
The position is not compensated, but travel reimbursement and per diem expenses are available.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest and a resume by March 15 to Kent Dimmitt, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, 600 Capitol Way N., Olympia WA 98501-1091.
