Kelly White elected new chairman of Fish and Wildlife Commission
OLYMPIA—Kelly White, of Kettle Falls, yesterday was elected chairman of the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Russ Cahill, of Olympia, also was elected vice chairman in yesterday's telephone commission meeting.
White was appointed to the commission in 1993 to fill a four-year vacancy. Gov. Gary Locke appointed him to a six-year term in 1997. He has served as commission vice chairman since Dec. 1997. He is self-employed, specializing in farming and consulting as well as timber and real estate management. He also is an avid outdoorsperson who enjoys hunting, fishing, rafting and other sports.
Cahill was appointed to the commission last year to fill a five-year vacancy.
He retired from a 40-year professional career that focused on natural resources, parks and law enforcement.
Cahill also is a fisher and outdoorsperson who has hiked, skied or paddled many areas of the state.
Both terms are for two years.
