WDFW issues corrections and updates
to the Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet
OLYMPIA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has issued corrections and updates to the recently published 2007-2008 Fishing In Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
Corrections and updates to state fishing rules are posted on the department's website at /fishing/regulations. Anglers are advised to update their copies of the 2007-08 Fishing in Washington rules pamphlet that became effective May 1.

Page 127 - Health Restrictions/Clams, Olysters and Mussels
- Map Error: The use of the "star" and the "black dot" symbols in the map legend are incorrect.
- Correction: Disregard the use of the two symbols in the description of the legend. The text in both lists is correct.

Page 40 - Chehalis River (Grays Harbor Co.) from mouth (Hwy. 101 Bridge in Aberdeen) to Porter Bridge
- Error: The SALMON seasons were incorrectly stated.
- Correction: SALMON - Oct. 1 - Oct 31: Min size 12". Daily limit 6. Up to 2 adults may be retained. Only 1 may be an adult CHINOOK. Release CHUM.

- Error: The Capitol Lake portion of the map references the wrong Page number.
- Correction: The regulations for Capitol Lake are on Page 63.
Page 134 - Dungeness and Red Rock Crab Seasons
- Update: The starting date has been moved ahead for crab fishing seasons in two marine areas of Puget Sound.
- Correction: Crab fishing in Marine Area 6 begins June 27, Wednesday through Saturday only, but open the entire Labor Day weekend (Sept. 1-3). Crab fishing in Marine Sub-Area 7 East begins July 4, Wednesday through Saturday only, but open the entire Labor Day weekend (Sept. 1-3).
Page 137 - General Gear Rules
- Error: The last sentence of the first paragraph states: "No fisher may set, fish, or pull shellfish gear from a vessel from one hour after official sunset to one hour before official sunrise."
- Correction: This rule only applies to Marine catch areas, and not to crawfish or freshwater shrimp fishing in fresh water. The rule should read: "No fisher may set, fish, or pull shellfish gear from a vessel from one hour after official sunset to one hour before official sunrise in marine waters.
