Anglers set new records for bullhead, shad, rockfish
OLYMPIA--Anglers have set new state records for three Washington fish
species.
John E. Moore, of Mount Vernon, caught a 1.75 pound black bullhead (catfish)
on June 29 at Mud Lake in Skagit County. The previous record was a 1.16-pound fish.
Tim Bennett, of Grandview, set a record for American shad with a 3.22-pound
fish he caught on June 12 in the Columbia River in Klickitat County. There was no
previous record.
Mukkaw Bay, near Cape Flattery on the Pacific coast, yielded a 6.55-pound
vermillion rockfish to James S. Duffy, of Seattle, on May 23. There was no previous
record.
