Deadlines extended for special-hunt permit application purchase, submission

OLYMPIA The deadlines for purchasing and submitting applications for special hunts have been extended after heavy Internet traffic led to processing delays, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).

Hunters have until midnight tonight (June 20) to buy an application and any necessary hunting licenses and transport tags for a special-hunt permit The cost for each application is $5.48 for residents, $54.75 for non-residents, and $3.29 for young people less than 16 years of age and are available on line, by phone or from a license dealer.

The deadline for submitting special-hunt applications has been moved to midnight on June 26. Hunters can submit their applications on line (http://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov) or by calling 1-877-945-3492. WDFW does not accept hand-delivered applications.

WDFW will select winning applications by lottery and inform all applicants of the results by July 31.
