WDFW announces commercial razor clam season
OLYMPIA -- The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW)
announced today the dates for a commercial razor clam season.
The season will be open April 15 through May 31. Digging is allowed every day
and is restricted to the detached Willapa Spits in Willapa Bay and to the northern end of
Leadbetter Point. The area open on the point will be marked with poles and flags.
Commercial razor clam diggers must be registered with a Department of Health
certified and licensed buyer. A digger can only sell clams to the buyer that they
registered under. In addition, all calms harvested with a commercial license must be
recorded on a fish ticket from WDFW. For additional information on the license
requirements, persons should contact the WDFW licensing office in Olympia at (360)
902-2488.
For information regarding Department of Health fees and requirements, persons
should contact the agency's Olympia office at (360) 753-5994.
