Information meetings for volunteer fish and wildlife grants scheduled

OLYMPIA—The public will have two opportunities this month to discuss possible changes to the rules governing Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife grants to fund volunteer cooperative fish and wildlife projects.

The first meeting is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 24 in meeting room 1-A, Main Branch, Spokane Public Library Main Bldg., 506 W. Main.

The second is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 25 in the Tahoma 1 meeting room at the Mountaineers' Clubhouse at 300 3rd W., Seattle.

In addition to proposed rule changes, there also will be a briefing on the process for applying for volunteer grants.

In the 1999-2000 biennium, WDFW expects to have $1.9 million in Volunteer cooperative Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Program grants for projects that help fish and wildlife.
