Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet May 23

OLYMPIA – Several Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) management initiatives will be discussed during a Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting May 23 in Olympia.

The commission, which sets policy for WDFW, is scheduled to begin its meeting at 10 a.m. in room 172 of the Natural Resources Building, 1111 Washington Street S.E.

During the one-day meeting, the commission will hear updates on the department’s strategic plan; an upcoming citizen survey; improvements in WDFW’s capital asset management; the annual salmon season-setting process; and hunting co-management with treaty tribes.

An agenda for the meeting is posted on the commission’s website at http://wdfw.wa.gov/com/may2307.htm.
