Sport anglers can plan Hoodsport chum fishing around tribal nets

HOODSPORT -- Tribal fishers tentatively plan eight days of fishing for chum salmon with beach seine nets at the entrance to the Department of Fish and Wildlife's Hoodsport Hatchery in November and December.

The tentative tribal schedule is being provided to the press so that sports anglers can plan their fishing trips around the net fisheries if they desire.

The tribal beach seines will be at the hatchery on Nov 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 27. The Indians also plan to fish on Dec. 3 and 5.

Tribes planning the net fisheries have indicated their fishers will remove all fish caught in the hatchery area.
