WDFW seeking nominations for upland game advisory group

OLYMPIA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking nominations for an upland game policy advisory group, that will provide recommendations to the department on upland game management issues.

The volunteer group will consist of 10 to 15 members, chosen to represent a broad diversity of game bird and other small game conservation and recreation interests. The group will serve as an important communication link between WDFW and its constituents.

Advisers should have a broad interest in upland game and the ability to communicate effectively with large segments of the public. Terms are two years.

The advisory group may meet several times each year, and advisers may be asked to provide comment on written material throughout the year. Because of WDFW budget constraints, advisers are responsible for their own travel expenses.

Any group or individual may submit a nomination, and self-nominations are also accepted. Nominees do not need to be affiliated with an organized group, however it is beneficial. Nominations must include the following information:

  • The nominee's name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address
  • The nominee's affiliations, if any
  • Experience, including the amount and type of experience with upland game or other game animal issues
  • The name, address and telephone number of the individual or organization submitting the nomination
  • Up to three references may also be included.

Nominations must be mailed no later than Nov. 10 to Mick Cope, WDFW Upland Game Section Manager, 600 Capitol Way N., Olympia, WA, 98501-1091. More information is available by contacting Cope at (360) 902-2691.
