Sport Dungeness crab pot fishing to reopen in northern Puget Sound

OLYMPIA--Two portions of northern Puget Sound reopened to sport pot fishing for Dungeness crab at 8 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 24), the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.

The areas being reopened are: Marine Area 8-2 (Ports Susan and Gardner) east and south of a line from East Point on Whidbey Island to Lowell Point on Camano Island and Marine Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet) north of a line from the southern tip of Possession Point on Whidbey Island to Picnic Point.

Biologists have determined the crabs have completed molting and are in harvestable condition.
