Strait shoreline opens to disabled salmon anglers
OLYMPIA -- Disabled persons with free fishing licenses or state-issued
permanent disability cards may fish for salmon from the mainland shore along the Strait
of Juan de Fuca and from Whidbey Island through Sept. 30, the Washington
Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today.
The new emergency regulation applies to Marine Areas 5 (Sekiu and Pillar Point)
and 6 (eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca).
Qualified persons must abide by rules for the areas contained in the Fishing in
Washington regulation pamphlet.
