VANCOUVER, WA-The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) will hold an open house here Feb. 18 to allow discussion of the 2003-05 hunting regulation proposals for southwest Washington.
The meeting will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at the WDFW Region 5 office, 2108 Grand Boulevard in Vancouver.
Proposed hunting seasons and rules will be available for review at the meeting. WDFW wildlife biologists will be available to discuss the hunting rule proposals developed following earlier public meetings in January.
Game Management Unit (GMU) boundaries are not scheduled for discussion as part of the regional hunting rule proposals. The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission ruled in favor of changes to GMUs 564 (Battle Ground), 568 (Washougal), 554 (Yale) and 550 (Coweeman) at its February 7-8 meeting in Kelso.
Written comments on proposed 2003-05 regional hunting rules must be submitted by Feb. 24 to Dave Ware, game division manager, WDFW, 600 Capitol Way N., Olympia, WA 98501.
Information on state-wide 2003-05 hunting season and rules proposals will be posted later this month on the WDFW website at http://wdfw.wa.gov
Public comment will be taken on final state-wide 2003-05 hunt rule recommendations when the Fish and Wildlife Commission meets April 11-12 in Moses Lake.
