Jefferson County beaches offer clam digging opportunities
OLYMPIA -- The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) today
announced the following Jefferson County beaches are open for the recreational
harvest of clams until further notice:
- Shine Tidelands State Park
- South Indian Island County Park
Also effective immediately, and until further notice, the Point Whitney Tidelands
are closed to clam and oyster harvest.
Information on clam limits may be obtained from the 1998 "Fishing in
Washington" regulations pamphlet. The information is also available on the WDFW
home page, wdfw.wa.gov
A Shellfish/Seaweed license is required for Washington residents 15 years of
age and older. All non-residents are required to have a license at any age.
