The Skokomish Park boat launch site in Hoodsport will be closed Aug. 5 and 6 to accommodate work on Tacoma Power’s new sockeye hatchery.
The launch site is owned and operated by the Skokomish Tribe.
The ramp will be closed for trenching work near the entrance to the boat ramp, said Ryan Lothrop, WDFW Puget Sound recreational salmon fishery manager.
“We realize this is an inconvenience to boaters,” Lothrop said. “However, this work is necessary so that construction of the new fish hatchery can continue.”
Alternate boat launches in the Hood Canal region include Union Boat Launch, Twanoh State Park, Triton Cove and Mike’s Beach Resort.
