QUILCENE—The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will hold another public meeting to discuss Quilcene Bay goose hunting from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. March 10 at the cafeteria in the Quilcene Public School District.
The purpose of the March 10 meeting is to obtain public comments on a proposal to end disputes over goose hunting in and around the bay. The proposal, from a citizens' group, would allow continued hunting on uplands but close it on the water (below the high tideline).
"The local group worked out a solution we think can be accepted by everyone," said Sara LaBorde, Olympic Peninsula regional director for WDFW. "As an agency we would prefer to implement the solution through local county laws."
