A new computerized licensing system, put to use last week for recreational hunting and fishing license sales, will be demonstrated this month in a half dozen locations around the state.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) put the new Washington Interactive Licensing Database (WILD) system into operation March 1. The system was developed by MCI Worldcom Communications, Inc., under a contract with WDFW.

The automated system, used for all recreational license sales, will be demonstrated in the following locations:

The WILD system allows for license purchases in person at license dealers statewide and by telephone at 1-866-246-9453. License purchases over the Internet are scheduled to be available after May 1.
