The public is invited to attend the first meeting of the Puget Sound Recreational Fisheries Enhancement Oversight Committee on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Lacey Community Center.
The committee was established last spring by state legislators. Under state law, Dr. Jeffrey Koenings, director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), has authority to appoint at least seven members to the committee.
Committee members will serve two-year terms and will represent sport fishing organizations. The primary duty of the committee is to advise the department on all aspects of the Puget Sound salmon and marine fish enhancement program.
Members recently appointed by Koenings include: David Croonquist, Sequim; Tony Floor, Olympia; Mike Gilchrist, Federal Way; Jim Lone, Seattle; John McLaughlin, Sequim; Clint Muns, Shelton; Kevin Ryan, Olympia; and Walter Thompson, Edmonds.
The Oct. 9 meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
