OLYMPIA–Sturgeon management in the Columbia River for 2000 and beyond will be the topic of public meetings scheduled by the Washington and Oregon departments of Fish and Wildlife.
At the meetings, biologists from the two agencies will present information about the status of sturgeon stocks, allocations between sport and commercial fishers and management objectives. Statewide sturgeon management throughout Washington and Oregon also will be addressed.
All meetings will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the following schedule:
- Portland: Oct. 12 in the commission room of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife headquarters, 2501 SW First Ave
- Astoria: Oct. 14 at the Columbia River Maritime Museum, 1792 Marine Dr.
- Longview: Oct. 19 in the Cowlitz County PUD building, 961 12th Ave.
