TACOMA–American Lake and Bradley Pond in Pierce County will receive thousands of trout over the next few weeks, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.
The fish will come from Trout Lodge and will provide anglers a unique opportunity to catch trout when fishing success normally is declining in western Washington lakes.
Bradley Pond is in a new county park located on South Hill in Puyallup. The lake will receive a total of 3,000 trout ranging from about 9 inches to 3 pounds in plants scheduled for: Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Nov. 5 and Nov. 19.
This week, American lake received 2,000 trout ranging from about 10 inches to 10 pounds. Some of the trout are being taken today in a special enclosed area for American Lake Veterans Hospital residents. Trout not caught by the veterans are being released into the main part of the lake.
"These high quality Trout Lodge fish will provide a special fall fishing opportunity for Washington anglers," said WDFW biologist Steve Jackson.
