MONTESANO--Several thousand hatchery coho salmon weighing up to 10 pounds are being planted in Pacific County ponds to provide special angling opportunities, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today.

The plants in Cases' and Radar ponds will continue over the next couple of weeks.

Cases Pond is open only to juvenile fishers (through age 15). No fishing license is required. It will be open for fishing through Nov. 30.

Radar Ponds are open for fishing all year. A freshwater fishing license is required, except by youngsters age 15 and younger.

The daily limit for the ponds is five fish. No salmon catch record card is required.

WDFW biologists suggest fishing with cluster eggs with a bobber or casting spinners.
