PUYALLUP--The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife again this year is planting hundreds of hatchery coho weighing up to 5 pounds in DeCoursey Pond.
The first planting of fish from the Voights Creek Hatchery in Orting will occur Oct. 20. If more surplus hatchery fish become available, a total of 1,500 coho may be placed in the pond.
DeCoursey Pond is open only to children under age 15. No fishing license or catch record card is required. The limit is five coho. The season has been extended to Nov. 1. [Please see correction.]
DeCoursey Pond is located in Puyallup's DeCoursey Park on 7th Avenue S.W., approximately a mile west of the Western Washington Fairgrounds.
The fishery is sponsored by WDFW and the Puyallup City Parks and Recreation Department.
