Salmon limit returns to two fish in south Puget Sound
OLYMPIA -- The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife reminds salmon anglers that the daily limit in Marine Areas 11 and 13 has been reduced to the standard limit of two fish.
The limit was increased to four fish on Sept. 1 in response to an agreement with Canada to reduce their fishing for Washington-bound coho in the waters west of Vancouver Island. The department has returned to the standard management limit to protect wild salmon stocks.
Marine Areas 11 and 13 include Puget Sound waters from the north end of Vashon Island south to Olympia.
