Razor clam information meetings scheduled for late September
OLYMPIA–Clam fishers will have four opportunities to discuss razor clam management and fishing opportunities with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists this month.
At the meetings, WDFW biologists will discuss clam population status, management techniques, marine toxin closures, tribal co-management, license changes and other issues. The fall razor clam season will be set after public comment is taken at the four meetings.
The meetings are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the following locations:
- Fife (near Tacoma): Sept. 20 at the Fife School District Administration Building, 5802 20th St.
- Ocean Shores: Sept. 21 at the North Beach High School Commons, 336 State Route 115
- Westport: Sept. 22 at the Ocosta High School Commons, 2580 Montesano St.
- Long Beach: Sept. 23 at the Super 8 Motel, 500 Ocean Beach Blvd.
A meeting on the upcoming razor clam season also was held in Spokane on Sept. 8.
