OLYMPIA - Applications are on sale now for a second opportunity to win lifetime fishing and hunting privileges from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).
Two names will be drawn Sept. 30 from among those who have purchased drawing applications since Jan. 1, 2004. The first two winners were randomly selected in June. Throughout the 2004-05 licensing period, a total of eight winners will be selected in a total of four drawings, said Frank Hawley, WDFW licensing manager. Additional drawings are scheduled for Dec. 30 and March 31, 2005.
Applications, which can be purchased in unlimited numbers, cost $6.50 each for state residents and $12.50 for non-residents. The applications are valid for all drawings held within one year of purchase. Participants do not need to hold a current fishing or hunting license to be eligible for the lifetime privileges.
The second two lifetime-privilege winners will be announced within one week of the September drawing, following confirmation of the winners' eligibility. Winners are allowed to transfer their lifetime license privileges to another person at the time they are claimed. Winners must renew their licenses each year, but the renewal is free.
Applications can be purchased by phone (1-866-246-9453), or on WDFW's licensing website, http://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/.
