The Department will "Do the Puyallup" September 5-21!
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will "Do the Puyallup" this year with three displays at the Western Washington Fair, September 5-21.
Stop by the NW Outdoors Building and see if you can distinguish between chinook and coho salmon in the moat surrounding our island display. You can’t miss the 5-foot-wide osprey nest overhead, but you may need to look closely for the beaver. And how many native plants will you be able to identify before you have to read the names? Be sure to check out our information table next to the island.
Look for our enforcement officers with their field equipment just outside the NW Outdoors Building. The officers will be happy to answer your questions about Washington’s fish and wildlife, and even tell you how to protect them. Last year, our officers responded to almost 900 nuisance calls about bear and cougar - ask them how best to protect yourself in bear territory and cougar country.
