Four clam beaches to reopen
OLYMPIA -- The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is opening four beaches to clam harvesting.
The beaches are:
Dosewallips State Park -- opens Monday until further notice
Mystery Bay State Park -- opens Oct. 1 until further notice.
The beach currently is closed by the Department of Health because the clams contain high levels of marine toxins. Fishers should call the Department of Health Marine Biotoxin Hotline (1-800-562-5632) before harvesting clams in October.
Potlatch State Park -- opens Monday until further notice
Seal Rock Forest Service Camp -- opens Monday until further notice
The beaches are being reopened because they contain harvestable numbers of clams. Clam fishers should check the Sports Fishing Rules pamphlet for regulations applying to harvesting.
