Hunter safety class added in Clark County
VANCOUVER, WA - A large
number of young hunters in the Clark County area has prompted the Washington
Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to schedule an additional hunter education
class there in October.
Successful completion of
a hunter education course is a state requirement for hunters born after Jan.
1, 1972 who are seeking their first license. The program is funded through federal
excise taxes on the sale of firearms, ammunition and some archery equipment.
The added class takes place
on the following dates:
- Oct. 5, from 6 to 9
p.m.
- Oct. 7, from 6 to 9
p.m.
- Oct. 9, from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m.
- Oct. 11, from 6 p.m.
to 9 p.m.
Classes will be held at
the WDFW Southwest Washington regional headquarters, 2108 Grand Boulevard, in
Vancouver. In addition there will be a shooting-range practice day Oct. 9 at
Woverton Mountain Gun Club in Cougar.

by calling WDFW at (360) 696-6211.
