How
do I access harvest statistics?
Harvest statistics
can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Queries’ toolbar.
There are two types of customizable queries available: Harvest
data ‘By Reporting Unit’ and Harvest data ‘By
Harvest Statistics’.

Reporting
Unit Query:
The ‘Reporting Unit’ query
allows the user to make selections from pull-down menus to
customize their harvest report search by: Year, Species,
Report Type, Method Type, Reporting Unit Type, and Reporting
Unit. The query is submitted by clicking on the ‘Search’ button.
of the harvest statistics.

The example below, illustrates the results of a ‘reporting
unit query’, which was submitted for an antler report
for blacktail deer harvested in GMU 516, during the 2003
hunting season. There is a scroll bar to the right of the
report, which allows the user to view the entire report.
To display the reporting unit location on the map,
click on the reporting unit number (highlighted
in blue in the
search result). The map frame will zoom to and center
around the reporting unit selected. The selected
unit will be
highlighted. Select ‘Clear Selection’ from
the ‘Tools’ menu or click the ‘Eraser’ on
the ‘Mapping Tools’ tool bar to clear the
highlighted location.
Harvest Statistics Query:
The ‘Statistics’ query
allows the user to make selections from pull-down menus
to customize their harvest report search by: Year,
Species,
Method Type, Reporting Unit Type, and a set of User-selected
Statistic(s). The query is submitted by clicking on the ‘Search’ button.
The
example below, illustrates the results of a ‘Statistics
query’,
which was submitted for a report of all GMU’s, which had equal to or greater
than 35 four-point blacktail deer harvested with modern firearm in the 2003 Hunting
Season. If the report is long, a scroll bar will appear to the right of the report
allowing the user to view the contents of the entire report.
To
display one of the reporting unit locations on the
map, click on the reporting unit number (highlighted
in blue in the report below, example 667)
The
user can also specify more than one harvest statistic
type and value
to search on. Additional search criteria can
be applied by clicking on the ‘Add Another Filter’ button
and populating the statistic type, operator, and value fields.
Click on the ‘Search’ button to submit
the query and retrieve the Statistic(s) Report. TIP: The
search filters are NOT mutually exclusive, but additive.
In the example
below, the filters return all GMU’s that meet the criteria
of each filter applied.
